The Forest Resort Robert Allenby Challenge- Corporate Ambrose.

Just in time for last Christmas Corporate Commandos sponsored a hole for the Robert Allenby Forest Challenge.
After the Corporate Commandos team had a round of golf with Robert Allenby as part of the challenge we soon realised why we stick with what we do & don’t become professional golfers. A great day was had by all with a cocktail reception that night & auction & all monies being raised for “Challenge” supporting kids with cancer. If you would like information on how to sponsor this year please click on this link & it will give you contact details at the Forest Resort.

Team of the Month
Delaware North Companies, Melbourne Olympic Parks
Our team had a fantastic time with your crew and as a team we benefited greatly from the experience.
A little bit about what our team does
We were the team that successfully delivered all of the food and beverage requirements, both public and corporate for the 2009 Australian Open – the largest sporting event in the Southern Hemisphere. Many, many months of the year is spent planning for the Australian Open amid our regular hectic schedule which includes; functions, events and concerts in the likes of Kylie Minogue, Stevie Wonder, P!NK, Krusty Demons, Disney on Ice, Cycling, Basketball, AFL Grand Final Breakfast just to mention a few.
What our team thought of the Corporate Commandos Experience
Although upon first sight of John & co in their camouflage gear, you could see our team’s faces changing colour as feelings of fear and trepidation set in, once we were also decked out in uniform, teamed up and got underway all of the anxious feelings subsided and we all had a ball. The camouflage gear assisted in levelling us all and creating a true team environment.
We found the course to be empowering for both our teams and on an individual level and insightful on many levels. All participants thought it was valuable that we had a competitive team activity and the Operation Air which was more focused on self and shifting your own internal movement – yet team encouragement and spirit played an integral role in both activities.
Comments from the team
“ I think we were all surprised that we could push ourselves to do something that we feared”
Sasha Bogdanov’s comments.
”It was enlightening and empowering. I got equally as much from watching everyone else tackle their fears as I did tackling my own”.
Damon Wilson, reflecting on the abseiling activity.
"I just want to write a short note to let you know how much I enjoyed myself on your courses. I really had fun. Not only did I have fun, but I got a strong sense of belonging and that everyone cared about me not only as a member of a group but as an individual. I was accepted for who and what I am and was my limitations were recognised and accepted by all.
I really felt comfortable, safe and happy and had so much fun!! I loved it!!
Thanks so much and I hope to see you all again." –
Penny Russell (received in an email post the event).
A positive step forward
We can see the impact and value of what a continued program would do and how we would benefit. The two days were exactly what our team needed at this point. It has given us just the right boost and energy needed. Relationships that had started to form you can see are now continuing in the workplace, having shared experiences with common language to draw on and remind each other of whilst at work is invaluable.
Thanks again!
B. Connolly, Human Resources Manager.
